Coronavirus LetterUpdatedTuesday June 23, 2020 by Board of Directors.
Dear Fellow Community Members:
Thank you for your patience as we have worked to develop a plan for the pool for the coming year. As you can imagine, the situation remains fluid but we have developed the following initial plan for the pool based on guidance from the Department of Health and various governmental authorities.
Pending final Department of Health approval, the Red Hook Pool will tentatively open on July 6th. The pool will be open for both lap swim and swim lessons. For lap swim, 1 swimmer will be allowed per lane to ensure social distancing. Swim lessons will be 1-1 with only 1 student per roped section to ensure social distancing. Unfortunately, family swim will not be offered at this time.
We will be instituting an online reservation system to ensure we remain at approved occupancy for each activity. Final details for the reservation system, schedules and costs will be provided in the next few weeks. Online availability is on a first come, first served basis. Payment must be made online only.
Upon arrival each person admitted to the pool will be asked a series of health questions and have their temperature taken before admittance to help ensure everyone’s wellbeing. There will be no access to the locker room, restroom or changing areas. A porta potty with handwashing station will be available. The snack bar will not be open.
The Board of Directors will continue to monitor new information, guidance and recommendations as the summer progresses and will make any additional changes we can to ensure the greatest access to the pool in the most reasonable and responsible way. As always, the health, safety and well-being of the community is our primary concern.
We again thank everyone for your patience and understanding in these extraordinary times and continue to hope you and your family stay healthy and safe.
